Installation Details
Polyflor Fusionline Acoustic PUR should be installed by a qualified flooring contractor in accordance with Polyflor and Polysales installation guidance, SANS 10070 and the relevant local standards.
Key installation factors include:
- Subfloor: Install onto a previously prepared Class 1 subfloor. The subfloor must be clean, dry, sound, smooth and free from contaminants.
- Moisture control: Use a Polysales recommended self-leveller and moisture barrier where required.
- Conditioning: Store the planks and adhesive indoors at a consistent temperature of 18°C to 27°C for at least 24 hours before installation. Boxes should be stacked no more than five high during conditioning.
- Site conditions: Maintain suitable site temperatures before, during and after installation.
- Adhesive: Use a Polysales recommended adhesive, spread with the appropriate notched trowel. For areas exposed to direct sunlight, high solar gain, underfloor heating or temperature fluctuation, use a suitable high-temperature, epoxy or polyurethane adhesive.
- Laying method: Plan plank layout carefully before adhesive is applied. Planks should be staggered for a natural finish, with plank ends kept at least 150mm away from adjacent plank ends.
- Rolling: Roll the installed flooring in both directions with a 68kg three-sectional roller immediately after installation into the adhesive.
- Joints: Ensure all joins are cleanly and tightly butted.
- Underfloor heating: Suitable for underfloor heating systems up to a maximum subfloor temperature of 27°C.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Polyflor Fusionline Acoustic PUR features a PUR reinforced surface that supports easier cleaning and maintenance. Regular light maintenance is more cost-effective than occasional heavy cleaning and helps protect the appearance of the floor over time.
General maintenance guidance:
- Use an effective entrance matting system to reduce dirt, grit and moisture brought into the building.
- Do not strip or seal the floor.
- Never use a black pad on a PUR floor.
- Remove dust, sand and loose dirt regularly using a vacuum or disposable cloth system.
- Spot clean wet or sticky marks with a correctly diluted neutral detergent.
- For larger areas, clean using an automatic scrubber-drier with a suitable pad and low-foam neutral detergent.
- For periodic cleaning, scrub with a neutral detergent and blue cleaning pad, then rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove chemical residue.
- Clean all equipment and pads after use.
