Creating Clean Care Spaces
Care establishments are required to promote a positive, warm and compassionate environment. Along with appropriate lighting and signage, the floor is integral to the look and feel of the space and can provide a homely, welcoming and non-institutional feel for those living and working within a residential care setting. Floor finishes are required to meet people’s individual needs and to ensure small group living is an enjoyable, yet high-quality experience.
Learn more:
- Care home floor coverings must be easy to clean and maintain, whilst inclusive care and support is provided throughout the building.
- An effective care home cleaning policy will ensure continued wellbeing for residents. Floor coverings featuring a polyurethane reinforcement (PUR) can minimise cleaning costs, allowing for an effective and efficient maintenance regime.
- Vinyl is a water-impervious flooring solution, ideal for en-suites. Polysafe ranges provide a high degree of slip resistance creating comfortable, safe spaces.
- Many Polyflor products are suitable for use with underfloor heating, further providing underfoot comfort to residents.
Floor colour, design & finish, particularly the replication of natural materials, such as wood or stone, help to create a less clinical look and feel to a space providing a sense of tranquillity and calm.
