Installation
Installation is straightforward when planned correctly:
- Position the drain and connect it to the drainage pipework system
- Ensure adequate floor gradient to direct water toward the drain
- Backfill around the unit and finish flooring up to the drain edge
- Remove protective film before final sealing
- Apply a 5–8mm bead of mastic sealant around the drain edge where a watertight seal is required
Always follow manufacturer guidelines for best results.
Maintenance
Herbish® stainless steel drainage products are finished with a satin surface. While durable, this finish should be treated with care to maintain its appearance.
Scratches or marks may occur with improper cleaning, but these will not affect the product’s corrosion resistance or performance.

Supply, deliver and install corrosion-resistant and suitable for intended application, Herbish drain system HBV50V-HS, HBV75V-HS or HBV100V-HS in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and project drawings, complete with adequate load-bearing capacity and slip resistant grating, channels, end caps and all necessary accessories, prepared substrate to receive drainage system, ensuring correct falls toward outlets with efficient water runoff with no ponding, set out and install drainage channels to line and level, ensuring alignment with finished floor levels, connect to waste system, ensuring watertight joints and compliance with plumbing regulations, secure units in position using appropriate bedding material (e.g., concrete or approved mortar), ensure correct integration with surrounding floor finishes, including edge trims where required, test installation to confirm effective drainage and absence of leaks, clean down and protect installation prior to handover, installation to be carried out by experienced contractor in accordance with best practice and manufacturer guidelines, available from Polysales +27 11 609 3500.

Care Guildelines
Do:
- Wash regularly with warm water, followed by a cold rinse
- Use mild dishwashing liquid (sparingly) for cleaning
- Clean drains and channels frequently to prevent residue build-up

For Specific Situations:
- Rust Stains: Use a diluted nitric acid solution (1:9 with warm water), rinse thoroughly after 1 hour
- Acids: Rinse immediately with warm water and repeat
- Bleaches: Rinse immediately with hot soapy water
Don’t:
- Use chloride-based cleaning solutions
- Use abrasive materials like steel wool or wire brushes
- Use strong acids (especially hydrochloric acid)
- Use silver cleaners
- Leave corrosive substances (salt, milk, chemicals) on the surface for extended periods
